Rechargeable Batteries

Ever find that those rechargeable batteries seem to be less and less effective over time? You are not alone. Jeff Atwood at Coding Horror has spent some time doing a little research on rechargeable batteries and blogged the results: Adventures in Rechargeable Batteries.

He provides some useful information about how rechargeable batteries work and why some become less effective over time. The best part is probably:

I spent several hours after I got it plugging various batteries in it, trying different modes, and watching it work. I’m not sure what the exact definition of geek is, but I think “enjoys recharging batteries” has to be very high on that list
