Removing Screen Burn from LCD Monitors
Despite the fact that LCD monitors are not supposed to get “screen burn,” many people have found they do, although apparently its described as “persistence” instead of screen burn.
There are answers however. The most basic is to create a completely white image and display that on the screen for about as long as the original image that created the burn was up. You’ll want to turn off any screen saver/energy savers before trying to fix the problem. Of course, if these are turned on, there probably isn’ a problem in the first place.
For more details, you can view Apple’s recommendation for fixing a “persistent” image. Also, there are some programs that are supposed to “scrub” the image away, but I’d try the white image first: LCD Scrub and JScreenFix.
