Benefits of Dark Chocolate

The NY Times is reporting on a recent review of studies that finds dark chocolate reduces blood pressure. In particular, the review found that eating three and a half ounces of dark chocolate was "comparable to that of beta-blockers like atenolol, known by the brand name Tenormin, or propranolol, known as Inderal."

Milk chocolate was not effective since milk prevents the absorption of polyphenols, the source of this reduced blood pressure.
