The beginning of the new school year is approaching, and the US Census Bureau is ready with their Facts for Features: Back to School: 2006-2007. Some of the facts include:

— 75.5 million - # of children &adults enrolled in school throughout the country

— 17.6 million - projected # of students enrolled in the nation's colleges & universities this fall

— 38% - percent of all college students age 25 & older

— 31% - percent of undergraduates attending two-year institutions

— 4,216 - # of institutions of higher learning that grant college degrees

— $12,605 - average tuition, room & board (for in-state students) at four-year public colleges & universities

— $34,698 - average tuition, room & board at four-year private colleges & universities

— 2.9 million - # of college degrees expected to be conferred this school year
